So where am I currently? Part 3. Be Your own Boss....

It’s a beautiful day , so warm for this time if year, and the sunshine is glorious. Now that I’m calling myself an entrepreneur, and can do whatever I want, I’ll take my Lap top out to the garden and do some business work. What a bonus that I can get some much needed Vitamin D while making money online.

Yes, I think I’ve been SAD for too long. –Now I think can be happier……

I look around the patio, wondering where on earth the sun chair has gone. I couldn’t remember putting it away. As quick thinking as I am, now that I’m my own boss, I half run into the house, and get the orange bean bag from the laze room.

The laze room is my favorite place in the house. Nothing in there but the bean bag, and some magazines, and a Cd player, and CD’s and a DVD player, and a computer, and my exercise bike. They are all in here. The perfect place to laze. It’s a bit too small though’, and I have to shuffle around things to get to where I want to be.

Squeezing the beanbag out of the back door, I remember I’ve left my lap top on the kitchen counter. I drop the beanbag just where I am, and half run (again) into the kitchen to get the Lap top.

Outside again, the sun is still throwing daggers at me. I know this is going to be a great afternoon. Falling disgracefully onto the orange beanbag, my mind turns to the serious side of life. I open my lap top and decide to check on my bank balances. First though’ I’ll look at my e mails. I have been networking hard over the last week, and should have loads of emails from friends I have made. My eyes widen, as I receive 457 emails! Wow! I’m Popular, I gasp to myself. Opening the inbox, my heart sinks. 1 have 3 emails and all the rest are email delivery failure messages. I sent out many emails this last week, My heart again plummeted.- Should have had my eyes tested- those e’s and a’s just look the same to me these days.

Not put off forever, I knew I could make up ground. Okay, I’ve been lucky and made 1 sale in 3 weeks. My daughter needs food, - I need food! But hey- I’m my own boss!. Closing down Internet explorer with disgust, I open my bank accounts. Finances and income are so important- especially when you have non of either. Oh! I am pleasantly surprised. I’m not so far overdrawn as I thought I was. This is a relief.

Feeling thirsty, I haul myself up, legs akimbo, and skirt half way round my neck, I half run into the kitchen- again. I’m in a hurry because I have a business to get off the ground. I pour an orange juice and take it outside, I then want to go to the toilet. So I half run inside and go to the Loo.

Feeling more comfortable, I go back out as quickly as I can, recline into the bean bag, and take a mouthful of Orange juice. As I do so, the cactus which I had put outside yesterday, so it could get some quality light was drooping badly. It’s one of these long prickly things, about 2 ft high. I often think it could do with a good waxing!

Alarmed at its imminent death, I jump up quickly and start to tend to Eric( Eric the Viking is his name). He’s wilting like he’s just finished mating! Only, he doesn’t look contented. I pick up the pot and take him inside. Blinded by the darkness of the kitchen, I bang into the corner of the counter and Eric is dead. On the floor, out of his Pot, and bleeding, on my kitchen floor.

10 minutes later, having cleaned up the aftermath, I go back outside, sad at this death on such a beautiful day. But Eric is free now, I tell myself, Just like me- I am my own boss, and can work when and where I like. I have an internet business, and am proud of it.

I open my lap top- ready at last, to settle down without interruption or distraction. I type the details I want into Google. And wait, and wait.. the connections slow today… I think… and my eyes are closing, lids becoming heavy. That’s OK, I think to myself, You are your own Boss, You are allowed to Dream………..
